When dealing with contractors of any sort, always remember the cardinal rule:
Get an estimate in writing, first!
In early October, I had a tree limb stuck on some wires. I called Cambridge Landscape, and within a couple of hours the estimator was there to take a look at it. He said the job wasn’t a big deal, and he would only charge me “the minimum”. When I got the bill (six weeks later), it was for $360, or about double what he led me to be believe.
Now maybe $360 was a legitimate bill for the work done, but I felt ripped off, especially because the estimator really played down the cost. Caveat Emptor
